Bangladesh opener Litton Das suffered an unfortunate out in the ongoing warm-up match against England. Litton was not out according to the laws of cricket even though the ball hit the gloves.
After winning the toss and batting first, Litton got out on the first ball of the third over of Bangladesh's innings. Litton failed to read Reece Topley’s wide uneven bounce and it touched his gloves and wicket-keeper Jos Buttler took the catch. Litton was given out as the ball hit his gloves. But he wasn't actually out. Litton let go of the bat when the ball hit his gloves. That is, Litton's glove where the ball hit did not have a bat. Those gloves weren't on impact. As a result, Litton was not out.
Bowler Topley and wicket-keeper Buttler both appealed strongly for the dismissal. Litton himself did not react. Of course, there was nothing to do here. There is no DRS here as it is a warm-up match. As a result, the decision of the on-field umpire was final. So Litton had to get out and go back to the dressing room.
At the end of 30 overs, Bangladesh's collection is 153 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Towhid Hridoy remain at the crease. However, due to rain, the game has been closed for quite some time, the field is covered.
