Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has released the schedule for the 4th edition of the Lanka Premier League which will be played from 30th July to 20th August.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the highly anticipated 2023 Lanka Premier League (LPL) fixture list on Sunday 18 June. The fourth edition of the top division begins on Sunday July 30th, consisting of 24 games the Summit Clash, which is scheduled to be played on Sunday August 20th.

Three-time winners and defending champions Jaffna Kings will play their opening game against Colombo Strikers on Sunday 30 July at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. Specifically, the first few matches will be played in Colombo, followed by a series of matches at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

The business conclusion of the league including the knockout phase will again be held in Colombo. In addition, there is a reserve day and the finals will be played on Monday 21st August should an unfortunate scenario occur.

In total, 24 matches will be played during the tournament, with 20 first-round games, and 4 playoff games including the final.

Four first round matches will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium while the remaining 20 matches including playoff matches will be played at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

With teams having bolstered their rosters with top-flight cricketers and looking impressive on paper, it remains to be seen which team will eventually lift the title. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if the opposing teams prevail and end the dominance of the Jaffna Kings in the league who have won three consecutive titles since the inception of the league.
