Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) all-rounder Krunal Pandya provided an update on his partner Mayank Yadav, who stepped off midway through their team's match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on April 7.
Mayank Yadav walked off after only one over against the Gujarat Titans in Lucknow on Sunday. Mayank's speed had slowed before he left the field, and he was struck for three boundaries in the fourth over of GT's fruitless chase of Lucknow Super Giants' 163 for 5.
"I don't know what is happening but I did have a brief couple of seconds' chat - he seemed okay, which was quite a relief for us," Krunal said on the broadcast.
"A bright prospect, I'd been watching him from last two years. He used to bowl gun in the nets. Last year, unfortunately, missed it [due to injury]. But again, whatever conversation I have had, what I see is that he has a good head on his shoulders as well,” Krunal added.
Since the start of Lucknow's IPL 2024 campaign, 21-year-old Mayank Yadav has been the center of attention. In their previous match against Bengaluru, Mayank recorded the season's fastest delivery of 156.7 KMPH. Even without Mayank, Lucknow cruised to a 33-run triumph over Gujarat, captained by Shubman Gill.
