Rangpur Riders have thrashed Fortune Barishal by 8 wickets on Thursday (January 2). Khushdil Shah's three-wicket haul, along with two each from Iftikhar Ahmed and Nahid Rana wrapped up Barishal's innings to 124 runs. In reply, Saif Hassan's blistering 62* off 46 deliveries and Alex Hales' 49* helped Rangpur Riders get a massive eight-wicket victory.
Alex Hales and Saif Hassan had a massive 113* runs stand to steer Rangpur Riders home. Being inserted to bat first, Najmul Hossain Shanto fell earlier on to Mahedi Hasan. While Akif Javed had Towhid Hridoy as Barishal had an early blow twice. Tamim Iqbal smashed three boundaries to Mahedi Hasan to handle the initial blow but was removed by Nahid Rana's express pace after scoring 28 off 18 balls.

Khushdil Shah rattled through Fortune Barishal's middle order as the defending champions were all-out for 124 runs.

In reply, Iqbal Hossain Emon ran riot with the new ball removing Azizul Hakim Tamim for a golden duck and Tawfique Khan for a three-ball duck. But Alex Hales and Saif Hassan did the rebuilding job as the duo added 113 runs while Hales was one short of his fifty as he was strangled on 49* off 41 balls. Saif Hassan made 62* off 46 balls to help his side get to a massive victory.
