Khulna clinched a thrilling 7-run victory against Chattogram in the National Cricket League (NCL) T20 eliminator, held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. A standout half-century by Nurul Hasan Sohan guided Khulna to a competitive total, ultimately paving the way for their advancement to the second qualifier.

Winning the toss, Chattogram opted to field first. Khulna posted 146 runs in 19.3 overs before being bowled out. The innings was anchored by skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan, who struck a sparkling 52 off 39 balls. His composed yet aggressive knock included timely boundaries that stabilized Khulna’s innings. Azizul Hakim Tamim added a quick 20 off 16 balls, while Mohammad Mithun contributed 16 off 12 deliveries.

Chattogram’s Ahmed Sharif was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets, while Fahad Hossain chipped in with 3 scalps.

Chasing 147, Chattogram got off to a shaky start, losing both openers Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Sadikur Rahman with just 33 runs on the board. Shahadat Hossain Dipu provided a brief glimmer of hope with a 14-ball 23, but his dismissal further derailed the chase.

As wickets fell steadily, Yasir Ali tried to revive the innings with an attacking 37 off 27 balls. However, his departure at 117 put Chattogram in dire straits. Late fireworks from Nayeem Hasan, who remained unbeaten with a brisk 34 off 27 balls, reduced the deficit but fell short of securing a win. Chattogram managed 139/6 in their allotted 20 overs, handing Khulna a hard-fought 7-run victory.

For Khulna, Mehedi Hasan Rana and Masum Khan Tutul took two wickets each, delivering critical breakthroughs at crucial moments.
