Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka to participate in the Women's Emerging Asia Cup at midnight on Friday (June 9). The 5 women cricketers of the Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity are going to Hong Kong as part of this team. The team will not get them in the rest of the league. Therefore, the team seeks solace by thinking of the national interest.
Khelaghar head coach Ruhul Amin said, “The thing has happened that 5 cricketers have left our team, they are equal to 8 cricketers. It’s hard to fill their void.”
As 5 cricketers left, they informed the matter to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and they got a solution. For now, the cricket board has decided to arrange the XI. Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity is not happy with such a solution. But they have no choice but to accept.
Ruhul Amin added, “Now we have been given an opportunity to take 5 cricketers from the first division. But the Premier League game with first-division cricketers! But there is no way to accept it. We play cricket for the national interest. We are forced to leave cricketers at times of national need. There is nothing to be upset about here.”
The 2018-19 women's premier league champion side lost 5 cricketers - captain Lata Mondal, all-rounder Shorna Akter, wicketkeeper-batter Dilara Akter, off-spinner Sultana Khatun and left-arm spinner Sanjida Akter Meghla.
