Kapil Dev, a former Indian captain and all-rounder, has praised Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their tremendous contributions to Indian cricket in all formats. Kapil Dev hailed both players as legendary personalities in Indian cricket.

Virat Kohli has been a stalwart for India in T20I cricket, amassing 4,188 runs in 125 matches at an impressive average of 48.7 and a strike rate of 137.04. His T20I career includes one century and 38 half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma's T20I career began with the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, where he played a pivotal role in India's triumph. He concluded his T20I career as the highest run-scorer in the format, scoring 4,231 runs in 159 matches at an average of 31.34 and a strike rate of 140.89.

Kapil Dev compared Kohli and Sharma to cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni, emphasizing their invaluable impact on Indian cricket. "No one can take Virat and Rohit’s place in the Indian team in any format. They have been huge servants of Indian cricket, and it was a happy farewell for them. The stature that Virat has made of himself in all formats, he will surely be missed in T20Is. Both are the same as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. They are irreplaceable," Kapil Dev said at the Trinity Golf Championship League second edition curtain-raiser event.

Kapil Dev also conveyed his warmest greetings to the Indian cricket team and their newly appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir, for the forthcoming white-ball tour to Sri Lanka. "If Gautam Gambhir is taking up that post (of head coach of the Indian cricket team), I wish good luck to him and the team. I hope they do better than what we have done previously. I want to wish the Indian players all the best," Kapil Dev added.
