Gujrat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets on Saturday (April 19). Cameos from Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs steered Delhi Capitals to 203 runs on the board. In response, Jos Buttler's blistering 97* off 54 deliveries handed the GT a superb victory. Being inserted to bat first, Delhi Capitals started off to a flier, racing to 23 runs inside 1.4 overs before the fall of Abishek Porel after his 18 off 9 balls. Karun Nair and KL Rahul then steadied the ship, stitching a superb 35-run stand between them but GT kept picking away wickets at regular intervals.
Skipper Axar Patel came in and played an anchoring knock but it was Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma as the duo's blitzkrieg knocks [31 off 21 and 37 off 19 respectively] helped the DC uplift their innings and finish on a high on 203-8 after the alloted 20 overs.
In response, Gujrat Titans skipper Shubman Gill fell cheaply. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler then stood up and stitching a crucial 60 runs stand together to utilise the powerplay properly. But the chainaman Kuldeep Yadav had Sudharsan after his 36 off 21 balls but Jos Buttler was there and he partnered up with Sherfane Rutherford as the duo was hammering things here and there, putting up a show, adding a massive 119 runs off only 69 deliveries before the departure of Rutherford following his superb 43 off 34 balls.
But the damage was done as Jos Buttler single handedly demolished the DC bowling attack. However, he remained strangled on 97* off only 54 deliveries, helping the GT get a sensational 7 wickets victory.
