An exciting day of Test Cricket has come to an end. It was a wicket tumbling day in Perth, with 17 wickets fallen in a single day. India were all-out for a paltry 150 runs after opting to bat first and then Aussies are now stuttering on 67-7 after Jasprit Bumrah's onburst.
Opting to bat first, India were in all sorts of trouble, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal for duck to Mitchell Starc. Josh Hazlewood too had one and he picked up the wicket of struggling Devdutt Padikkal, who consumed 23 balls and managed to get nothing. Hazlewood then removed Virat Kohli and India were in deep sea.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant then tried to salvage the situation and stitched a small partnership before good looking Rahul nicked off to Starc to depart after scoring 26 off 74 deliveries.
Rishabh Pant then found hands with debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy and the duo strung for a crucial partnership of 48 runs to help India cross 100 mark barrier.
Pant made 37 and Reddy scored 41 as India managed to get 150 on the board. Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as he had a four-fer.
In reply, Jasprit Bumrah came out all the guns blazing, removing debutant Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith for a golden duck. Harshit Rana then knocked over Travis Head, Siraj removed Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Marsh as Australia are now stuttering on 67-7, trailing by 83 runs.
