The best bowler for the Mumbai Indians (MI), Jasprit Bumrah, recently talked about how he gets along with Rohit Sharma, who used to be captain. Rohit was Bumrah's captain when he played his first IPL game. Since then, the IPL has helped him become a world-class bowler.

Bumrah really did great in the T20 World Cup 2024, and was named Man of the Tournament, which shows how much he has grown. India won the title, with Rohit in charge. He scored 257 runs in eight games, making him India's top run scorer in the tournament. On the other hand, Bumrah was outstanding with the ball. He took 15 wickets in eight games, which is an amazing economy rate of 4.18.

In a candid conversation on the Indian Express Adda show, Bumrah discussed his early days in cricket and his dependency on Rohit Sharma during those formative years.

"When I came into cricket, I actually didn't know a lot. When I started playing in the IPL as well, I even used to go and tell Rohit that you set the field, I don't know where the ball... I am going to bowl this ball. You set the field and I trust you. Whatever you feel is right, you set the field. Slowly, I realized that I cannot be overly dependent on someone because I have to learn my own craft," Bumrah shared.

Currently, the 30-year-old pacer has been given a rest by the selectors for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka. This decision is aimed at managing his workload in preparation for a busy Test season ahead, which will see India play 10 Tests against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia.
