Chennai Super Kings have beaten Punjab Kings by 28 runs on Sunday (5th May) at the Dharamsala. Ravindra Jadeja's late blitz of 43 from just 26 balls helped CSK post 167 on the board. In reply, Ravindra Jadeja's excellent spell with the ball sealed the match for Chennai Super Kings.

Being asked to bat first, Arshdeep Singh removed Ajinkya Rahane earlier on with the new ball magic. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell strung a partnership to steer the ship as the duo added 57 runs on the board before the former one fell to Rahul Chahar. Harshal Patel trapped Mitchell for a LBW and he departed after a promising start.

CSK had a mild collapse at the middle order as Shivam Dube got out on golden duck, his back to back golden ducks. Moeen Ali found it tough to get going as he consumed 20 balls to score just 17 runs. A searing yorker from Harshal deceived Dhoni and removed him for a golden duck. But Jadeja showed class in the match, smacking the PBKS bowlers at bay and raced his way to 43 off just 26 balls, with the help of 2 sixes and 3 boundaries. Jadeja's late thunderbolts have helped CSK post 167 on the board.

In reply, Tushar Deshpande ran riot with the new ball as he got Jonny Bairstow and Riley Rossow and left PBKS reel at 9-2. Prabhasimran and Shashank Singh had a partnership of 53 runs before Jadeja brought CSK back with a crucial breakthrough. Jadeja then triggered the collapse at middle order and removed skipper Sam Curran and dangerous Ashutosh Sharma and PBKS fell into a deep trouble. No one from the batting lineup stood up and hence they fell into a abyssal. PBKS just managed to score 139 runs on the board and lost the game by 28 runs.
