The Blackcaps quick Jacob Duffy has claimed the top spot of ICC T20I bowling rankings following Pakistan series heroics.

Jacob Duffy has clinched the top spot of ICC T20I bowling rankings on the  back of superb efforts against the Pakistan series. Duffy has dethroned West Indies tweaker Akeal Hosein to clinch the top spot of the latest ICC T20I bowling rankings on the back of superb efforts against Pakistan series on home soil.

Jacob Duffy's efforts helped the hosts clinch the five-match T20I series by 4-1 and his impressive efforts helped him as the 30-year-old pacer rose four spots and in front of Hosein, Varun Chakaravarthy, Adil Rashid and Wanindu
Hasaranga as a result.

Duffy has picked up a series-high 13 wickets to his name at a jaw dropping bowling average of 8.38. It is the first time that the 30-year-old pacer has held the top spot in any format of the game, also the first Kiwi to top the chart in Men's T20I since Ish Sodhi back in 2018.


Jacob Duffy's countryman Tim Seifert too had a big rise as he jumped five spots to eighth overall on the updated rankings for T20I batters on the back of his excellent demonstration of batting.

Seifert scored 249 runs at an astonishing average of 62.25 across the five matches, with a series-best score of 97* in the series finale in Wellington helping him clinch the Player of the Series award.
