Despite the first day's play being washed out by rain, Bangladesh shone on the second day of the Rawalpindi Test. Thanks to an impressive bowling display, Bangladesh bowled Pakistan out for 274 in their first innings.

Elated with his successful return, Taskin shared his thoughts at the end of the day's play. " It’s great to be back in the red ball after one and a half year. I really enjoyed but struggled a bit as well. So I think it will be fine from the next innings. There are some adaptation things. So I really enjoyed. We bowled them out withing good total and I’m very optimistic about a good result. When the rain interrupted, the pitch was under cover. That’s why we got little bit of extra help," Taskin said in a press conference.

Having made a strong comeback, Taskin is now focused on winning the match. "The game isn't over yet. There’s a second innings to come. The main goal is to win. Team comes first," he emphasized.

Taskin also commented on the bowling unit’s performance, saying, "Alhamdulillah, it wasn’t bad. Overall, we bowled well as a unit. We could have done better, and we’re working on everything. As a senior and experienced bowler, it’s my responsibility to adapt to whatever format I’m playing. There’s still a lot to do in this match. We need to bat well and perform in the second innings. We have to win. Nothing is over yet. It was decent, but it could have been better, and InshaAllah, it will be."

After Taskin dismissed Abdullah Shafique early, Saim Ayub and captain Shan Masood settled in and built a strong partnership. However, Bangladesh fought back after the lunch break. Speaking about the plans discussed during lunch, Taskin said, "When we tried to attack early on and they scored and had a good partnership and after lunch we had some meetings and plans and we executed them. The thing is you can do so many plans but you need to execute well and we executed well and according to plan we bowled and got them out.”

Bangladesh ended the day at 10/0 in 2 overs, still trailing Pakistan by 264 runs.
