Taskin Ahmed has been performing well on the international stage for Bangladesh for a long time. Taskin has caught the attention of the cricketing world with a storm of pace that has blown away the batters. As a result, Taskin often receives offers from franchise leagues around the world.

A few days ago, Taskin played in Zimbabwe's Zim-Afro T10 League. There, he dismantled the opponent's batters with great bowling. Besides, there was an opportunity to play in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), but he could not go there because he did not get the NOC from the board. A few days ago, 6 Bangladeshi cricketers were named in the IPL auction. 3 of them got interest from some IPL franchises. As a result, those 3 Bangladeshis got a place in the mini-auction list. They are – Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed.

However, BCB informed the BCCI about the decision not to send Taskin and Shoriful to the IPL. As a result, despite the opportunity to play in the IPL this time, Taskin didn’t make it. Taskin expressed his frustration at the repeated missed opportunities in the franchise league.

Facing the media in Mirpur today, Taskin said, "I had three chances in the IPL and I missed this time too and it feels bad because as a cricketer everyone wants to play in all the franchise leagues. It is not only IPL, I get offer from different leagues too.

"When the offer comes, the board doesn't want to release me for different reasons; sometimes we have games and sometimes it's because of my health. I have spoken with the board and they told me that they will consider (my case to play in different franchise leagues). But certainly I don't feel good missing these franchise leagues because everyone wants to play and so do I. I am living with the hope that in future when a chance will come I will get to play."

Only Mustafizur Rahman got a chance in this year's IPL from Bangladesh. The current champion Chennai Super Kings brought him to the team with a base price of INR 2 crore.
