IPL 2024: Suresh Raina savagely trolls Shahid Afridi, leaves commentary panel in stitches

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina grabbed the headlines after he took a swipe at Shahid Afridi during the Qualifier 1 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Raina who is known for his incredible sense of humour left the commentary panel in splits when asked about coming out of retirement to play in the IPL. Cricket expert Aakash Chopra was curious to know whether Raina had any plans of revoking his retirement to play again.
Meanwhile, the Mr. IPL hilariously replied that he is Suresh Raina and not Shahid Afridi. He said, "I'm Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi." His reply left everyone in stitches and the audio clip of the same went viral on social media portals.
Suresh Raina called it quits from international cricket alongside MS Dhoni in late August 15, 2020. He called curtains on his stellar IPL career after CSK beat KKR to win the fourth IPL title in the 2021 season.
For the unversed, Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2006 to focus on limited-overs formats. However, he returned to Test cricket in 2010 as captain. After leading Pakistan in a Test against Australia, he retired from the format again, citing the inability to perform in the format.
The Pakistani retired from international cricket in May 2011 after he was sacked as ODI captain, citing unfair treatment by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Nevertheless, he stunned everyone by coming out of retirement in October 2011. He retired from ODIs after the 2015 World Cup but continued to play T20Is.
He announced his intention to call it quits from T20Is after the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. However, he continued to play T20Is for a while before officially announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2017.
