India have thrashed Bangladesh by 7 wickets to cleansweep the visitors on Tuesday (October 1) in Kanpur. Fifties from Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul in the first innings helped India get a super lead. And then Jasprit Bumrah ran riot through the Bangladesh batting lineup to fold them up for a paltry 146 runs. India needed just 95 to win and they did it very comfortably.

Bangladesh were wobbling in the second innings with the bat. Ravichandran Ashwin first drew the blood as he picked up the wicket of Mominul Haque. Ravindra Jadeja then triggered the collapse in the morning, removed Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, Wicket-keeper batter Litton Das and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for a two-ball duck.

Bumrah then cleaned up the tail with his top yorkers. However, opener Shadman Islam stood tall and scored a gutsy fifty, with Mushfiqur Rahim too had scored some runs under his belt with the tailenders before a rash shot cleaned him up and Bangladesh were bowled for 146 runs.

In reply of 95 runs, Mehidy Hasan Miraz had Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill earlier of the innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli then stitched a crucial partnership, while the former one brought up a splendid fifty to uplift India.

Kohli, however was remained unbeaten on 29* and helped India to cleansweep Bangladesh by 2-0. India have pulled off a victory despite losing 2.5 from this Test match due to rain and wet outfield of the venue. India remain at the top of the WTC ladder, with Australia on second and Sri Lanka have improved to No. 3 after some stunning victories at home against New Zealand.
