ICC reveals Player of the Month Award for August 2024 nominees
West Indian youngster Jayden Seales, South African veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj and Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage are the nominees.

The ICC (International Cricket Council) has revealed the nominees of ICC Men's Player of the Month for August 2024. West Indian youngster Jayden Seales, South African veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj and Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage are the nominees.
Keshav Maharaj has been superb in the West Indies, helping South Africa clinch the series by 1-0. Maharaj picked up 13 wickets at an average of only 16.07. He collected figures of 8/164 in the first Test in Port of Spain and then picked up 5/45 in the second game including a crucial three-for in the second innings.
Jayden Seales, the young gun of West Indies. He was the leading wicket-taker for West Indies in the last month's two-match Test series against South Africa, claiming 12 wickets at an average of 18.08 with nine wickets coming in the second game. However, West Indies lost the home series by 0-1.
Dunith Wellalage is the highly touted all-rounder for Sri Lanka. His all-round brilliance thrashed India in the ODI series by 2-0. India whitewashed Sri Lanka in the T20I series and India's ODI side was more stable as star players : Rohit and Virat came back. Wellalage with his 108 runs and seven scalps helped Sri Lanka overcome the India challenge in the ODI series by winning it in a scoreline of 2-0.
While ICC also have revealed the nominees of ICC Women's Player of The Month for August 2024. Sri Lanka's rising batter Harshitha Samarawickrama and then two Irish star players Orla Prendergast, Gaby Lewis are the other nominees.
