The ICC (International Cricket Council) has announced the nominees of ICC Player of the Month Award for October 2024. South African pace sensation Kagiso Rabada has teamed up with two superb left-arm spinners to be in the nominees list.
After losing the first Test to England, Pakistan were bruised. They brought in their old cliche in Noman Ali and Sajid Khan. Noman stepped up for his country, racking up a combined of 20 wickets at a terrific average of only 13.85 in the second and third Test to help the hosts script a stellar comeback and clinch the series.
Noman Ali delivered two game-changing spells, returning with match figures of 11/147 and 9/130 as Pakistan broke their three-year drought for a Test series win at home.
The South African pace sensation, Kagiso Rabada has reclaimed the top position at the ICC Men’s Test Bowlers rankings following his incredible show with the ball in the two Tests he played last month.
Rabada racked up 14 wickets at a jaw dropping average of just 9.00, including two terrifying five-wicket haul in the Test series against Bangladesh, where the Proteas teared apart the home side by 2-0.
Mitchell Santner played only one Test in October but his impact has put him into the list. Santner rattled India's batting lineup in both innings of the second Test, picking up two five-wicket hauls with his best-ever Test figures.
Santner ended the Test with 13/157 and won the Player of the Match award for his efforts.
From the ICC Women's Player of the Month for October 2024, Blackcaps Amelia Kerr, South Africa's skipper Laura Wolvaardt and West Indies' all-rounder Deandra Dottin have been listed for the nominees of Player of the Month for October 2024.
