The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by seven wickets on Friday, March 29. This was their eighth straight win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The home team was only able to score 182 runs, but KKR easily beat the run chase and won with 19 balls to spare. Even though Virat Kohli hit 83 runs off of 59 balls without getting out, the past two-time champions were too good with the bat in the second game.

Venkatesh Iyer of KKR really shone for the guests. He hit 50 off of 30 balls, which helped them win away from home. The left-hander's innings helped the Kolkata team reach their goal of 183 runs with 19 balls to spare.

“To be honest, it got better as the game went on, one end in particular, the Pavilion end and credit to Narine, the pressure was off and we had to go and finish the formalities. It was very important to capitalise on the platform laid, the left-arm spinner was bowling and it was my duty to go after the bowling,” Iyer said.

After getting his eighth fifty in the IPL, Venkatesh put out his hand and blew a kiss to mark the occasion. He told everyone that it was for his fiancée, who was in the stands. “Also my fiancee is here and I would like to credit her,” Iyer added.
