Mitchell Starc has stated that he does not feel any remorse for not being able to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) throughout the previous eight seasons. As a result of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquiring Starc for a staggering sum of INR 24.75 crores on December 19, he became the most expensive cricket player in the history of the T20 league.

"I made some choices, which I don't regret at all. I think it's probably helped my Test career, so I'm very happy with how it's all gone. Very grateful to have some interest in the auction and excited, thrilled, surprised. There are plenty of words you can describe the night," Starc was quoted as saying on LiSTNR Sport podcast on YouTube.
Multiple franchises, notably the Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Gujarat Titans (GT), battled furiously for the Australian speedster's services. However, it was the Kolkata Knight Riders who were successful in getting Starc's services.
Starc has a noteworthy IPL record, having previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2014 and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. He has 34 wickets at an economy rate of 7.17 in 27 matches, including a remarkable four-wicket haul.
