Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians by 31 runs in a high scoring affair on Wednesday (27th March). Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram teared apart Mumbai Indians bowlers to set a new record of the league. And then Pat Cummins' brilliant bowling aided SRH taste their maiden win of the season.

After being inserted to bat first, Travis Head started the carnage with his monstrous hitting and made a flamboyant 24 ball 64, Abhishek Sharma took the onus on his shoulders after the departure of Head as he became the fastest for SRH to score a fifry, he did it off only 16 balls. At the backend of the innings, Aiden Markram played the perfect second fiddle role to the better hitters than him in Heinrich Klaasen, the six machine. Klaasen teared apart MI bowlers and made a tornado of a knock of 80 from only 34 balls to shatter RCB's previous record of highest team total and posted a mammoth like target of 277 on the board.

However, Mumbai had cashed in for the chase, Tilak Varma inspired them with his blitzkrieg 64 off 34 balls but Pat Cummins and his men were too disciplined to restrict MI for 246. MI skipper Hardik Pandya isn’t that bothered with the result rather he said he liked what he saw in the match.

"The wicket was good. I think SRH batted really, really well. It was tough for the bowlers. 277, no matter how good or bad you bowl, if the opposition get 277 that means they batted very well. We tried (as a bowling unit), but couldn't get the breakthroughs. We could have tried a few things, but we have a young bowling attack. I liked what I saw. Finishing the overs within the stipulated time is always tough when the ball goes into the stands a number of times. We did well with the bat. Good signs." - Hardik Pandya after the match against SRH.
