In the midst of a teenage girl's accusation of sexual assault, the cricket career of Nepal's spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has come to a halt. Like a fairy tale, this cricketer who rose from Nepal to world cricket is now fighting with only bat and ball and facing legal battles.

In a few days, Nepal will play in the T20 World Cup. Before that, West Indies stars are playing against them in a bilateral series. Lamichhane is nowhere to be seen in all of this. For many days, his whereabouts have not been heard. This time, through a small social media post, this cricketer seemed to say a lot without saying much.

Lamichhane wrote, "I refrained myself from long to post. I have no doubt that I am a victim of conspiracy. May God bless them all who played their roles in this conspiracy. I leave everything up to God. Time will tell the truth unless revealed."

Sandeep Lamichhane is the biggest superstar in Nepali cricket. Many consider him to be among the ranks of heroes for bringing a lot of joy to the team through cricket. He has held the captaincy of the team due to his terrific performance and leadership qualities.

However, a major controversy arises and threatens his career when he gets embroiled in a scandal. On September 7, 2022, Lamichhane was issued an arrest warrant. He was banned from cricket. Although that ban was later lifted, the 23-year-old leg spinner hasn't played any matches since December 2023.
