Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has said that he expected, he would be unsold in the first round of the hammering process of IPL 2019.

Even though the auction of Indian Premier League 2019 ended a couple of days ago, still the talks about the auction process are going on as it had some talking moments during the process. One of the main topics of the auction was the Indian World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh. After being released from Kings XI Punjab, fans went crazy in finding a new franchise for the World Cup hero. Especially Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians fans were on their toes. But the story was an unexpected one as the all-rounder went unsold in the first round and that put fans into shock. However, in the second round, Yuvraj Singh was bought by Mumbai Indians for his base price as no other teams didn't show any interest in him. Speaking about this incident, Yuvraj Singh said that it was an expected one for him. “There was no disappointment as such because I had an idea that I would not be picked in the first round,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

“The reason is obvious when you are putting together an IPL team, you will be looking at the youngsters. I am at that stage of my career where it could be presumed that I may be in the last stages of my career. I had hoped that there would be a buyer for me in the last round.”

Yuvraj Singh scored only 65 runs in the eight games he played in the last season. But the all-rounder is confident of making some turnarounds in his new franchise Mumbai Indians.

“Agreed, that the last season was not great. But the point was I played at different positions in four-five games. I was not given one position to bat. This year I am very keen to make the best of the opportunity that will comes my way,” he opined.
