I cannot do much about it: Shardul Thakur on ODI World Cup spot
Shardul is contributing regularly to the team. Apart from him, there is another pace all-rounder in the team. However, Hardik Pandya did not fulfill his bowling quota after the surgery. He is now considered primarily as a batter. On the other hand, Shardul had a good series with the ball against West Indies.

India pace bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur is supposed to make the World Cup team in the form he is in. But in the end, there will be nothing to do about the World Cup team's decision, said Shardul.
He took four wickets for 37 runs in the last ODI against West Indies. He picked up 8 wickets in three matches. Shardul is happy after such a performance.
"I am happy to have picked up eight wickets in this (West Indies) series. As a cricketer we wait for this opportunity for years, sometimes you perform, sometimes not. Whichever series I play, it always boosts my confidence, because I am only adding experience to my career," he said.
The team management has given the opportunity to the cricketers in the West Indies series to decide which cricketers will be fit for the World Cup. This is how Kohli and Rohit were rested in the last two ODIs against the Caribbean. The team's head coach Rahul Dravid said that since there is not much time before the Asia Cup and the World Cup, he has introduced a rotation policy to keep the cricketers ready.
But what will be Shardul's fate? There was a lot of controversy over Ambati Rayudu's place in the last World Cup. Shardul said that even if he does not have a place in the World Cup team, he will have nothing to do.
"I never think that I have to play to seal my spot because I can't play with that mentality and I am not that type of player. If I am not picked in the World Cup squad it's their call, I cannot do much about it. I always try to perform for the team and play according to the situation of a match," he added.
