New Zealand have bossed the second day with supreme authority. They're leading England by 340 runs as their bowlers displayed utmost class to fold the visitors for a paltry 143 runs after the first innings.
Earlier the morning, New Zealand's last wicket partnership added 32 runs and batted till the drinks and frustrated England bowlers severely. Mitchell Santner fell off the first ball after the drinks on his superb 76. And New Zealand managed to get a massive 347 on the board.
In reply, England started off to a positive note. Their openers added 32 runs inside just 4 overs but once their openers fell England lost wickets in a cluster. England collapsed horribly as the visitors were folded for a paltry 143 runs. Matt Henry was the pick of the bowlers, as he claimed four wickets. While William ORourke and Mitchell Santner shared three wickets each as New Zealand gained a massive 204 runs lead after the first innings.
Coming to the second innings, Gus Atkinson ripped through Tom Latham's stumps. Will Young and Kane Williamson joined together for a sensational 89 runs partnership before the former one's dismissal to Ben Stokes on 60.
Nightwatchman William ORourke fell to Stokes on an eight-ball duck. But Kane Williamson is there unbeaten on 50* off just 58 deliveries.
New Zealand are leading England by 340 runs and they've 7 more wickets in their hands.
