India bowling legend Anil Kumble has praised IPL franchise Punjab Kings’ new buy Shahrukh Khan much and compared him to West Indies’ hard-hitting all-rounder Kieron Pollard. He reminds me a bit of Pollard actually: Kumble praises Punjab's new buy

Punjab’s head coach and director of cricket operations, Kumble, has impressed to see Shahrukh during the team’s net session ahead of the 14^th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kumble remembered the memory of his Mumbai Indians days and said, "He reminds me a bit of Pollard actually. When I was with Mumbai Indians, Pollard in the nets was dangerous. I used to bowl a bit (in the nets), and the first thing I used to tell him was don't hit straight. Here I'm not even trying. I'm a lot older now, and the body doesn't take the bowling anymore. So, I'm not going to bowl at Shahrukh, for sure." Punjab bought Shahrukh by Rs. 5.25 cr in the auction in February and caught everyone’s attention after this. The 25-year old batsman came to limelight after his excellent performance in Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The Chennai-born cricketer scored 293 runs in his 31 T20 matches at the strike-rate of 131.39. Punjab is scheduled to play their first match against Rajasthan Royals on April 12 in Mumbai.
