"He might do something really special in T20 World Cup", Yuvraj Singh backs struggling Indian player to do well

Hardik Pandya failed to operate at his best in the ongoing IPL 2024 as a batsman and captain.

Nevertheless, former Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh have backed the struggling player to do well in the T20 World Cup.
Yuvraj Singh is of the notion that Hardik Pandya might pull something really special for the Indian team in the upcoming marquee event. The T20 World Cup ambassador urged the cricket fraternity to not look at the all-rounder's form in IPL before praising Hardik Pandya's recitals in international cricket.
"Well, the good thing is that the selection has been made. Selectors see how players have performed at international cricket and then they look at IPL form. Just not the IPL form. Because if you look at the IPL form, Hardik’s not done well," the former Indian all-rounder added.
"Looking at his background for India, what he's done for India, it is important that he’s in the squad. I think his bowling is going to be important, and his fitness is going to be important. And I think he might do something really special in this World Cup," he added in a statement.
The batting all-rounder accumulated 1348 runs in T20Is at a strike rate of 139.8, laced with three fifties. Apart from his batting credentials, he has ticked the boxes with the ball as well, accounting for 73 dismissals. These all-round credentials goes to show that he might make a telling impact for India in T20 World Cup 2024.
