Right arm pacer Hasan Ali has had finger surgery after suffering an injury while playing for Dambulla Aura in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) play-off game against Galle Titans.

Pakistani pacer Hassan Ali underwent finger surgery in Sri Lanka after suffering an injury during the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Hassan, representing Dambulla Aura in the tournament, was injured during the qualifier against the Galle Titans. He could only throw three overs in the qualifier and had to leave the field.

Ali took to social media platform X to share the disturbing news with his fans. He confirmed the finger injury he sustained during the aforementioned game which led to his subsequent surgery.

"It saddens me to report that I injured my finger during our qualifier yesterday and had to have an operation as a result. For me personally it was a pretty unfortunate end to a great tournament. However, I would like to look at the positives and thank my team management and medical staff for looking after me. A big thank you to all the fans who have supported me and now I want to ask you all to pray for my recovery," he wrote.

His teammate Dhananjaya de Silva shared an update on his injury on Instagram. "Speedy recovery brother," he wrote.

Hassan finished the fourth LPL season with eight wickets in five games on a 16 average and a 6.8 economy.

His team defeated the Titans in the qualifier by six wickets and made it to the final. They will play either Titans or B-Love Kandy, who will face off in the final playoff game tomorrow, in the finals scheduled for August 20th.
