Vaibhav Pandya,the stepbrother of Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, has been arrested by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police. The arrest comes in connection with an alleged cheating case involving a business deal worth over ₹4 crore.

Haridk Pandya and Krunal Pandya (MI)In 2021, the brothers started a business together. They agreed that Hardik and Krunal would get 40% of the profits each, and Vaibhav would get 20%. But instead, Vaibhav made another company and moved the money there.Hardik complained to the police, and they charged Vaibhav with cheating and forgery

An EOW officer was quoted as saying (via The Indian Express):

“Vaibhav allegedly diverted money from the LLP (limited liability partnership) firm to his own firm. Gradually the profit in the partnership firm dropped.

"Besides, in excess to his due share Vaibhav also allegedly fraudulently increased his profit percentage in the LLP firm without letting the two brothers know. For this, he allegedly forged signatures of the Pandya brothers on an LLP agreement."

Hardik Pandya showcased his leadership skills by guiding Mumbai Indians (MI) to their first victory of the IPL 2024 season. MI secured a convincing win against Delhi Capitals, triumphing by 29 runs. This victory was a much-needed boost for MI after facing defeats in their initial three matches against Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals.

Looking ahead, MI will be gearing up to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium on April 11.
