India dominated Bangladesh in Gwalior, claiming a resounding 7-wicket victory in the first T20I on Sunday (October 6). Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were the key architects with the ball, each grabbing three wickets to restrict Bangladesh to a modest 127 runs. The target was no challenge for the Indian batters, with Hardik Pandya’s spectacular knock leading the way to a comfortable win.

Former India T20I skipper Hardik Pandya shone in every aspect of the game. With 39* off just 16 balls, he added the finishing touch to India's chase. His quick-fire innings included five boundaries and two massive sixes, ensuring that India comfortably crossed the finish line and went 1-0 up in the series.

Pandya’s standout moment came in the 12th over when Taskin Ahmed bowled a short delivery. On the second ball, Pandya showed his trademark audacity, slicing the ball over the wicketkeeper’s head for a boundary with minimal effort. But it was the third ball that left everyone in awe. Taskin bowled a back-of-a-length delivery angling into Pandya, who leaned back and ramped the ball over the keeper without even glancing back to see where it landed.

The sheer nonchalance of the shot drew praise from many, including former Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to applaud Pandya’s brilliance, saying: “That was some shot @hardikpandy7”.
