Pakistan crushed Bangladesh by 7 wickets on Tuesday (31st October) at Eden Gardens. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wasim Junior's three fers helped Pakistan steamrolling over Bangladesh. Fakhar Zaman's swashbuckling 81 helped Pakistan chase down the total with ease. For Bangladesh, only Mahmudullah Riyad stepped up and scored a fifty.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the coin flip and chose to bat first. Coming out to bat their same rough patch were going on. Shaheen Shah Afridi struck earlier as he trapped Tanzid Tamim for a 5 ball duck. Najmul Hossain Shanto had a soft dismissal and Pakistan were pumped up about it.

Haris Rauf came and he got experienced campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim and Bangladesh were stuttering for 23-3. Litton Das and Mahmudullah Riyad stitched a fine partnership of 79 runs and were going at a good pace. But Litton gave a dolly to Agha Salman as Iftikhar Ahmed removed him for a gutsy 45 from 64 deliveries.

Shakib Al Hasan came and he was trying to find his rhythm back in. He was struggling from the very start of his innings and was going slowly. Mahmudullah Riyad on the other hand brought up his fifty and scored 56 off 70 deliveries before being knocked out to Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shakib after a tough phase seemed to get his grove back as he smashed 3 boundaries on the trot off Iftikhar Ahmed. But couldn’t long his innings as a bouncer from Haria Rauf removed struggling Shakib, who was looking like slowly getting in rhythm. Shakib before getting back to the pavilion scored 43 off 64 balls.

Bangladesh's lower order couldn’t wage and hence after the departure of Shakib they lost the plot and collapsed horribly. They were bundled for a paltry 204.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohamad Wasim Junior were pick of the bowlers as they shared three wickets each. Haris Rauf also was among the wickets and picked up two wickets.

In reply, Pakistan started strongly with Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique got their mojo back. They were happy with taking singles and doubles but once Shafique got cramps he didn’t go for singles he was dealing in boundaries. Fakhar Zaman too joined the party. The opening stand was worth of 128 runs which totally taken the game away from Bangladesh. Abdullah Shafique got out on 68 but Fakhar was going with all guns blazing. He went for making a quick-fire 81 off just 74 balls. Miraz took all of the 3 wickets of Pakistan's innings and none of the bowlers from Bangladesh stepped up. And as a result Pakistan comfortably chased down the total and won the match by 7 wickets.
