Social media was flooded with speculation and well-wishes, but these claims have been refuted by Priya’s father, who clarified the situation in a recent interview. “Priya is currently in Thiruvananthapuram for work, and no, her engagement with Rinku Singh has not happened. While discussions are ongoing between the families, the news of an engagement is false,” Tufani Saroj told India TV Digital.

Rinku Singh’s Cricketing Journey

Rinku Singh has been making waves in Indian cricket since his debut in August 2023. With 562 runs across formats, he played a crucial role in Kolkata Knight Riders' title-winning campaign and was part of the reserve squad during India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory under Rohit Sharma. Rinku has represented India in 30 T20Is and two ODIs, and he is set to join the Indian team for the upcoming T20 series against England.

Who is Priya Saroj?

Priya Saroj is a rising political star and the daughter of seasoned politician Tufani Saroj. The 26-year-old lawyer-turned-MP represents the Machhlishahr constituency in Uttar Pradesh, having won the 2024 elections by defeating BJP’s Bholanath with a margin of over 35,000 votes. A graduate of Delhi University with an LLB from Amity University, Priya initially aspired to be a judge but entered politics, following in her father’s footsteps.

Her father, Tufani Saroj, served as a Member of Parliament for three terms and is currently an MLA in Uttar Pradesh.
