Durham Cricket's latest England product, Matthew Potts, has pledged his future to Durham Cricket by signing a two-year contract extension with Seat Unique Riverside through at least the end of the 2024 season.
Matthew Potts has signed a two-year contract extension with Durham on the same day he was called up for England's first friendly against South Africa at Lord's.
Potts was the leading wicket-taker in England's series win over New Zealand and he goes into the series against South Africa just four out of 100 in first class cricket
Potts, who made his England Test debut in June, won 7 wickets in his first appearance in English colors and helped England to a 5-wicket win at Lord's.
His 14 wickets against New Zealand saw him finish as England's leading wicket-taker in the series win against the Black Caps.
He amassed the best first class figures of his career against Glamorgan earlier this season. In a season dominated by dry weather and excellent batting conditions, he has won 36 County Championship wickets at a cost of just £20.69 apiece.
"We are delighted that Matthew has agreed to extend his contract with us at Durham," added Durham Cricket Director Marcus North. "He's developed and developed over the last few years and that was evident when he was called up for England earlier this summer."
