But Dinesh Chandimal showed a superb grit, batting cautiously and incredibly. Skipper Dhananjaya De Silva and Chandimal came out with lot of positive intent today and the duo stitched up a fantastic partnership of 95 runs, helping their side inch towards 200 mark barrier.
But Keshav Maharaj removed the latter one. But Chandimal was there and he found wicketkeeper batter Kusal Mendis as his partner. The duo once again forged a 75-run stand to keep the resistance up.
Marco Jansen removed Mendis when he was only two runs short. While Chandilam was out to Gerald Coetzee after scoring a marathon 83 off 174 deliveries.
