Andy Flower, head coach of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, stated that Dinesh Karthik is compellingly justifying his inclusion in India's T20 World Cup squad.

Although Royal Challengers Bengaluru were defeated by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL match played at M. Chinnaswamy on Monday, veteran Dinesh Karthik made a significant impression with the bat in preparation for his selection for the Twenty20 World Cup in 2024. Karthik ignited Chinnaswamy with an impressive 83 off 35 balls, thereby sustaining the faintest of prospects for an unlikely victory.

After the defeat, RCB head coach Andy Flower offered words of encouragement to the players, commending their valiant effort. He also asked Karthik in a humorous manner regarding a place in the T20 World Cup squad during his speech.

"Dinesh Karthik is really making a push for the World Cup team as well and is only getting better on the field," Flower said.

Although this was RCB's sixth defeat in their last seven games of the season, Flower promised that they will learn from the experience and bounce back in the next game. "I am really proud of the way we fought with the bat out there in the middle. We lost the game but I was really proud of the way we fought," added Andy Flower.
