Lahore Qalandars on Thursday officially announced the appointment of legendary English fast bowler Darren Gough as head coach for the upcoming 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Former England fast-bowling star Darren Gough has been appointed head coach of the Lahore Qalandars for the upcoming 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the franchise announced in Lahore on Wednesday.

Gough, 54, returns to the Qalandars after leading the team to the final in last year's Global Super League. The appointment represents a significant reinforcement for Pakistan's premier Twenty20 competition and brings international cricket expertise to the franchise.

The 54-year-old brings a wealth of experience from his illustrious playing career that spanned from 1994 to 2006. One of England's finest bowlers, he became their leading ODI wicket-taker and one of the country's best players across all formats.

After retiring, Gough moved into the media and became a respected cricket commentator. He also served as England's bowling advisor in 2020 and later took on the role of Managing Director of Cricket in Yorkshire.

Lahore Qalandars Team Director Sameen Rana also shared his thoughts on Gough's appointment.
