Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 14-man Test squad and list of eleven (11) reserves players for the proposed Sandals Tour of England 2020. West Indies are scheduled to play three-match Test series against England, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced it on Tuesday (June 2).

There are two newcomers in the Test squad as
, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul have rejected the invitation to tour England in this coronavirus crisis situation. CWI has accepted their declination simple and confirms that it won’t affect in their future selection process.
Middle-order batsman Nkrumah Bonner and fast bowler Chemar Holder are the two newcomers in the squad. Chemar Holder was one of the star performer in West Indies Championship with 36 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 18.91. He’s also a leading performer of ICC Under-19 World Cup winning side in 2016.
While Nkrumah Bonner also performed well in West Indies Championship. He scored 523 runs in just 7 matches at an average of 58.11.
Except these two, there are no new faces in the squad.
“I think we have a squad that will be very competitive. More than half of the squad were involved in the victorious Test series against England in the Caribbean last year so they will bring that experience, that knowledge and belief with them and marry it to the enthusiasm and vitality of the newcomers.
“The experience of the players who toured England before in 2017 will also benefit the squad greatly. I expect that the bowling unit will once again provide a serious challenge for England and our batting will have to deliver. England is a tough team when playing in home conditions, however, I think the West Indies has a good chance of retaining the Wisden Trophy. We will have to bat consistently well to do so,”
Roger Harper, CWI’s Lead Selector said.
West Indies will play three Tests in 21 days against England in July. The matches will be played in a closed door. West Indies cricket team will arrive in England on June 9. The Windies will be in quarantine for 14 days after arriving in England on 9 June. The Caribbeans will be housed at Old Trafford and will practice there for three weeks.
The first Test between the two teams will be on July 8 in Southampton. The next two Tests will be on July 16 and July 24. Both matches will be in Lancashire.
It is learned that both the teams will play in the series in compliance with the rules laid down by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for cricket during the coronavirus period.
