Man of the match | Ish Sodhi (New Zealand) |
New Zealand have posted 254 on the board. The debutant Khaled Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan shared 3 wickets each, while Mustafizur was at his flow today with two wickets. But an interesting incident happened in the first innings of New Zealand.
A sight to behold as Ish Sodhi is hugging Hasan Mahmud. In 45.4 overs off Hasan Mahmud he saw Ish Sodhi is running before he bowls a delivery. So according to the rule, Hasan can run Sodhi out. And he did that and got Sodhi out, as umpire Marais Erasmus too gave his verdict positive for the bowling side. And this is the first incident a bowler from Bangladesh mankading a batter. But when Sodhi was going off the field being run out. Bangladesh skipper Litton Das called Sodhi back and taken back the appeal asked by the bowler Hasan Mahmud.
As Bangladeshi skipper called him back, umpire had nothing to say and Sodhi back to the 22 yard pitch and gave a hug to Hasan Mahmud with a smile. And the spirit of Cricket won again. Also the crowd was happy as Sodhi came back to the middle of the ground and erupted with joy.
However Sodhi's this lucky life pummelled Bangladesh hard as he went for scoring a fantastic 35 from just 38 balls to take New Zealand over 250 [254].
As the spirit of Cricket happened the Blackcapes posted a picture of Sodhi and Hasan Mahmud hugging and giving a love on the caption. Also the entire social media cricket pundits started to show respect to the decision from Bangladeshi skipper and his sportsmanship.
