Comilla is the current champion of BPL. They have a record of winning the BPL title a maximum of 4 times. In the last 2 seasons, they have been the consecutive champions. And Comilla is forming a star-studded team this time as well.
They have already retained Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tanvir Islam among the local cricketers of the previous season. Apart from that, the in-form Towhid Hridoy also joined them from Sylhet Strikers. Among the foreign cricketers in the team are Mohammad Rizwan, Sunil Narine, Rashid Khan, Johnson Charles, Iftikhar Ahmed and Moeen Ali. The latest addition to that list is Naseem, Khushdil, Zaman and Noor.
The inclusions were confirmed in a post from Comilla Victorians' official Facebook page. He has experience of playing in BPL before. However, Iftikhar played in the jersey of Fortune Barishal led by Shakib Al Hasan last season. This time he will play for Comilla.
On paper, Comilla Victorians are going to be one of the strongest teams in the upcoming BPL season. Comilla may enter the field with the aim of winning the fifth title by keeping that impression in the field game as well.
If everything goes well, the next season of BPL will be played in early January 2024. The final will be in mid-February. Before this, the players' draft will be held on September 24.
