India won by 2 runs (DLS method)
India have registered their first victory against Ireland in the very first match of the T20I series by 2 runs (DLS method) on Friday (18th August) in the Dublin. Bowlers fantastic outing along with batters aggressive intention saw them winning the match.
Earlier the day, Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and elected to bowl first. After being put into bat first, Ireland fell into a deep trouble as Indian pacers were breathing fire. Bumrah ripped through the stumps of Bilbirnie and then got Tucker for a duck. Bumrah set the tone for India and the rest of the bowling department carried things out. Ravi Bishoni bamboozled Paul Stirling for 11 off 11 deliveries. Prasidh Krisna got Harry Tector for a sedate 9 off 16 deliveries. And Ireland were stuttering for 31-5.
After falling half of the batters, Ireland got themselves into the match with Curtis Campher made a brilliant 39 off 33 deliveries. Mark Adair supported the other batter Barry McCarthy. McCarthy was absolutely on top and he crushed down Indian bowlers for fun. He made a serious 51 off only 33 deliveries with a jaw dropping strike rate of 154.55. He smacked 22 runs in the last over off Arshdeep Singh which helped Ireland reach 139-7 after alloted 20 overs.
In reply of 140, India had a pretty fine start as the openers added 46 runs inside the powerplay which saw them edging ahead of Ireland. But after the powerplay India lost quick two wickets as Craig Young got two in two and was on a hat trick. But rain irrupted and it was falling heavily which enforced umpires to call it a match. As India were ahead of Ireland by 2 runs hence they won the match and are in the lead of the series by 1-0.
