Pakistan's 41-year-old left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Irfan has been recruited by Durdanto Dhaka for the remainder of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Irfan will be in the squad for the Dhaka match against Comilla Victorians on Friday. 

Irfan was in the runner-up team Sylhet Strikers in the last season of BPL. But Irfan got a chance to play only one match. He took 1 wicket with 38 runs bowling four overs in that match against Rangpur Riders. He took Rony Talukdar's wicket. Irfan did not play any T20 match after that match. He played in a T10 tournament. 

Besides, Irfan had earlier played BPL for Dhaka Dynamites. The 7 feet 1 inch pacer has played 153 T20 matches so far. He has 160 wickets at an economy rate of 6.67 and a bowling average of 23.71. Along with Irfan, Dhaka has taken young cricketer Gazi Mohammad Tahjibul Islam. The 19-year-old Tahjibul was in the 2022 Youth World Cup squad. He played for Shinepukur Cricket Club in last season's Dhaka Premier League.  The wicketkeeper has played 7 List A matches and 2 T20 matches so far. He scored 221 runs in 7 innings in List A cricket at an average of 36.83 and a strike rate of 91.32. He got an opportunity to bat in one innings of two T20 matches, got out for 3 runs off 11 balls in that match.   

Dhaka will take on the Comilla Victorians at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday. They are at the bottom of the points table with only one win out of seven matches.
