The Rajkot test hangs in balance as England fought back after India's mammoth 445. Ben Duckett's majestic 133 off only 118 helped England's resurgence in this test match.
Earlier, Dhruv Jurel's brilliant 46 off 104 deliveries took India to a good total. He was well aided by Ravichandran Ashwin. This duo stitched a vital partnership of 77 runs before Ashwin got out to Rehan Ahmed. Bumrah was smoking things out of park at ease and he raced to 26 off only 28 deliveries with 3 boundaries and 1 maximum.
India posted a mammoth 445 runs after the first innings. Mark Wood was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 4 wickets, while Rehan Ahmed was among the wickets with his two scalps.
In reply, England started off to a flier. Ben Duckett was teeing off with his stroke making ability. Zak Crawley fell after scoring 15 off 28 deliveries. But Ben Duckett didn’t stop. It was an absolute carnage at the opening stand, Crawley contributed with just 15, while Duckett went berserk with his monstrous 68 off only 52 balls.
After thr fall of Crawley, Ollie Pope and Duckett stitched another partnership of 93 runs. Where Pope made 39 off 55 balls. In this partnership, Duckett notched up his hundred. Mohammad Siraj removed Pope but Duckett found another partner in Root.
