Basit Ali compares Jadeja-Ashwin stand to Litton-Miraz’s heroics against Pakistan
According to Basit, the Indian duo's partnership mirrored what Litton and Miraz had accomplished, helping Bangladesh recover from 26/6 in that memorable Test. Basit further suggested that India, in a way, has "avenged" Pakistan by turning the tables on Bangladesh.

In a recent match analysis, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali compared Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin's vital partnership in the ongoing Test between India and Bangladesh to the epic stand between Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz during Bangladesh's historic victory over Pakistan.
According to Basit, the Indian duo's partnership mirrored what Litton and Miraz had accomplished, helping Bangladesh recover from 26/6 in that memorable Test. Basit further suggested that India, in a way, has "avenged" Pakistan by turning the tables on Bangladesh.
Basit believes that Bangladesh underestimated the threat of Jadeja and Ashwin, much like how Pakistan overlooked Litton and Miraz during their clash with Bangladesh. He stated, “What Litton and Miraz did to us in Pakistan, today Jadeja and Ashwin did the same to Bangladesh. After losing six wickets at 26 runs, they counterattacked, just as Litton and Miraz did. Jadeja and Ashwin took revenge for Pakistan.”
Although Basit was full of praise for the Indian pair, he pointed out flaws in the performances of the other batters. “When Bangladesh won the toss and bowled first, India lost three wickets for just 34 runs. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli fell cheaply. Hasan Mahmud’s deliveries were too good for them to handle. Even Shubman Gill was dismissed for a duck trying to play down the leg side,” Basit added.
