People are not much crazy about women cricket in Bangladesh. And the opposite picture is the neighboring country India. From support to remuneration – men’s cricket and women's cricket are all comparable. That India have come to visit Bangladesh. Bangladesh are performing well also. However, there are not many spectators in the gallery to watch the matches.

However, Bangladesh women’s national team cricketers hope that one day the spectators will flock to the gallery to watch their game like men's cricket. For now, however, Lata Mondal regrets the drought of spectators. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (July 18) ahead of the second ODI of the series against India, she said, “The regret... there is definitely regret. It's a bit of a pity - just like there are so many spectators in the field in men’s cricket... there are less spectators here.”

But Lata believes that there will be a frenzy about them too, there will be a rush for tickets, “I think it won't be long before there will be spectators. I think the drought will be gone soon.”

Women are playing international series for the first time in Mirpur. Mirpur is called the ‘home of cricket’ in Bangladesh. Women also want to play more international matches in Mirpur in future.

Lata added, “Since we are playing in Mirpur now, our home ground is Mirpur. We told to Papon sir once, we want to play. And he heard us. We are happy. We played a lot of matches in Sylhet in the past days. We said once and we were given a match in Mirpur. Needless to say, I think they will give the matches [in Mirpur] in future also.”
