Bangladesh and Windies are currently playing a series in the shortest format of the game in Bangladesh as the final part of Windies' tour of Bangladesh.
Windies opened the series with an easy win over Bangladesh in the series opener in Sylhet. But the hosts made a great come back in the second T20I in Dhaka with a brilliant batting display and won the game by 36 runs.
But the hosts are stuck with bad news even after the win in the second game. Both Bangladesh and Windies were fined by the match officials for the slower over-rates during the game in Dhaka on Thursday.
Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the fines on both teams as Bangladesh were one over short of the standard over rates and Windies were short of two.
As such, Shakib has been fined 20 percent of his match fee, while his players have received 10 percent fines. Brathwaite has been fined 40 percent of his match fee, while his players have received 20 percent fines.
In accordance with Article 2.22.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel, which is related with the minor over-rate offenses players will be charged 10 percent of their match fees for every over their side failed to do on time while captains will be charged double.
The charges were leveled by on-field umpires Tanvir Ahmed and Gazi Sohail, third umpire Saikat Sharfuddoula, and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman.
