Former national captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who had previously been criticized for his silence during the recent anti-discrimination student protests, has now stepped forward to address the current crisis.

Mashrafe, who is deeply affected by the ongoing disaster, shared a heartfelt post on his Facebook page, highlighting the dire situation. He posted an image of a flood-affected area and wrote: “The catastrophic floods are wreaking havoc in Feni, Noakhali, Cumilla, parts of Chittagong Hill Tracts, and throughout the country. Millions are living under dire conditions. I pray to Almighty Allah for our swift relief from this calamity.”

Other cricketers have also voiced their concerns and offered support. Current national team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto used his Facebook page to express his anguish over the flood's impact on eight districts, including Feni and Cumilla. He emphasized the urgent need for rescue boats and relief efforts, and although he is currently abroad, he is doing his best to support the affected communities.

Batter Litton Das, who is in Pakistan for cricketing commitments, expressed his solidarity with the victims. In his post, he called for collective effort, stating, “Though I am currently in Pakistan due to cricket, my thoughts are with Bangladesh. Several districts are flood-affected. I urge everyone to contribute to relief and rehabilitation efforts. Now is the time to stand by our fellow citizens.”

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz also reached out via social media, urging people to help those suffering from the floods. He wrote, “With the ongoing floods, countless families are losing their savings and dreams. Let us all come together and support those affected. With collective effort, we can overcome this damage. May Allah grant patience to the victims and facilitate a quick recovery. May He protect us all. Ameen.”
