Bangladesh had the last laugh in a match full of excitement yesterday. The Tigers grabbed an excellent victory against Ireland by 3 wickets. At the end of the match, Bangladesh are getting praise.
Ireland put up a huge total of 319 runs after batting first in the 45 overs match. Harry Tector played a career-best innings of 140 runs. On the other hand, George Dockrell scored an explosive fifty. In response, the beginning was a bit shaky, but later Bangladesh turned around. Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a great century. Along with that, the Tigers got a comfortable win with the responsible batting of Towhid Hriday and Mushfiqur Rahim.
At the end of the match, Andrew Balbirnie, the captain of Ireland, looked for gains from the lost match. “It's a hard one to pinpoint, We have to sit down and look at it tomorrow. We got enough runs but with a ground like this small dimensions and credit to Bangladesh to chase that down. We did a lot of good stuff. We took a couple of early wickets which helped but looking back maybe we were a few short.
“Certainly can't fault the way the batters played. One of the better knocks from Harry in ODI cricket and a pleasure to be a part of and to see. He is getting better and better and we are lucky to have him. They are a top-class international team. We knew coming into the series we had to be very good to beat them, we were good today but not good enough,” he said.
