Pakistan cricket finds itself in a state of crisis following the national team's dismal performance at the T20 World Cup and subsequent accusations of match-fixing levelled against captain Babar Azam. 

Following Pakistan's early World Cup exit, senior journalist Mubashir Luqman ignited a firestorm by accusing Babar of match-fixing. This accusation stems from Azam's recent acquisition of expensive assets, particularly a new Audi e-tron. Luqman highlighted the discrepancy between Azam's recent purchases and Pakistan's string of international losses. He questioned the legitimacy of these acquisitions, implying a potential link between the car and involvement with bookmakers. Azam, however, maintains that his brother gifted him the vehicle.

Public frustration extends beyond the match-fixing allegations. Many fans are angry at the team's performance and the decision by several players, including Azam himself, to vacation abroad instead of returning home after the World Cup exit. This perceived lack of accountability has further fuelled public discontent.

The recent events have plunged Pakistan cricket into a state of uncertainty. The PCB must act swiftly and decisively to address the serious allegations and rebuild public trust.
