The Pakistan men's cricket team was invited to Canberra on December 5, 2023 for a ceremony hosted by Australian Prime Minister (PM) Anthony Albanese.

The Pakistan cricket team visited the Australian Parliament House on Tuesday ahead of the start of the Test series against the hosts.

The men in green, who arrived in Sydney on December 1, quickly made their way to Canberra. Their training sessions are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. local time on Sunday, December 3rd.

Pakistan is scheduled to play a four-day match against the Prime Minister's XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday, December 6.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed both teams and expressed hope that the match between the Prime Minister's team and the Pakistan team would be entertaining. He also expressed optimism about the upcoming Test series and praised Pakistan as a quality team.

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood on the occasion highlighted the historical significance of the game, which has been played since 1951. He expressed his great joy about playing against Prime Minister XI and stressed that the team is a tough competitor. The captain reiterated that Pakistan is not only prepared and excited for this game but also ready for the challenges of the upcoming Test series against Australia.

The Pakistan cricket team will play its first test match against Australia in Perth from December 14-18, followed by a test match in Melbourne from December 26-30. Sydney will host the final game of the tour from January 3-7, 2024.
