Australia Women's beat India Women's by a close margin of 9 runs on Sunday (October 13). Stand-in captain Tahila McGrath's 32 off 26 balls, ace all-rounder Ellyse Perry's 32 off 23 deliveries and at the backend of the innings, some quick-fire knocks helped Aussies get a competitive 151 on the board. In reply, Sophie Molineux and Annabel Sutherland bowled superbly to restrict India to 142.

Australia Women's are into the semifinals after winning four consecutive group stage matches. Opting to bat first, Aussie lost quick wickets at the very beginning, losing Beth Mooney and Georgia Wareham without triggering the scoreboard. Grace Harris and Tahila McGrath then stitched up a partnership together, as the duo added a crucial 62 off 54 deliveries before Harris fell to Deepti Sharma on 40 off 41 deliveries.

McGrath too departed after then after her 32 off 26 balls. Ellyse Perry then took the onus and steered the ship, her brisk 32 off 23 balls uplifted Aussied after a mild collapse. At the backend of the innings, Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield had quick-fire cameos under their belt to help Aussies get over 150.

In reply, Shafali Verma off start dangerously but Ashleigh Gardner snuffed her out and they strangled the Indian batters in the middle-overs. India's top three was gone inside the fifty and their middle order was racking up dots after dots.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur too failed to get over 100 strike rate, during that phase. Kaur and Deepti added runs, but were tad slowish. After a while, both the batters started hitting a flurry of boundaries and then Sophie Molineux removed the latter one and triggered the collapse.
